AVSil Silica Fabrics
AVSil Amorphous Silica Fabrics are high temperature fabrics used for a wide range of insulation and protection applications in industries such as aerospace, shipyards, molten metal and electric power generation. They have been used extensively in the replacement of asbestos. AVSil Silica Fabrics can be fabricated into many forms to withstand continuous temperatures up to 1,800 F (1,000 C) for short periods of time.Other silica forms such as tape, sleeving, ropes and insulation mats are available. All silica fabric rolls can be supplied with eyelets on one or both edges spaced per request.

AVSil Silica Woven Tape
AVSil Silica Woven Tape has selvaged edges to prevent raveling. WT36CH and WT65CH have a coating that improves low temperature handling and will decompose at high temperatures. AVSil Silica Woven Tape is used as insulation for wrapping hot pipes, and to protect hoses and cables from heat, fire and molten metals. Other applications include seals, gaskets and vertical strip furnace curtains. Tapes can be supplied adhesive-backed upon request.

AVSil Silica Slit Tape
AVSil Silica Slit Tape is made by slitting standard-CH fabric which has been adhesive-backed. You can also slit CH fabric that is laminated with aluminized film, aluminum foil, or coated with silicone on one surface. Both conditions combine non-raveling properties of woven tape to facilitate protective wrapping of pipes, hoses and cables. The adhesive system is an installation aid and will decompose at high temperatures.

AVSil Laminated/Coated Silica Fabrics
The AVSil standard-CH fabrics can be laminated or coated to obtain fabrics with special performance properties. The products available are laminated with aluminized film or with silicone coating. The former is used primarily for its thermal reflectivity and the latter for abrasion resistance. Both give gas and liquid impermeability. All silica fabric rolls can be supplied with eyelets on one or both edges spaced per request.

AVSil Amorphous Silica Rope is used for high temperature packings, seals, cores for tadpole tapes, and seals for casting molds. To improve handling properties during installation, AVSil rope has a coating which will decompose at elevated temperature. There are two rope constructions available – Twisted and Braided. AVSil Silica Rope products can be modified upon request with knitted metal wire constructions to improve abrasion resistance and compression properties.

To improve handling properties during installation, the sleeving has a coating, which will decompose at high temperatures.
